Vegetable tanning takes ten times longer than chrome and smells of oak bark rather than chemicals. It also means the leather keeps changing: the Cognac you buy will be chestnut in three years, and nobody else's will match it.

Write a reviewDaily commute on the L, rain more often than not. The Cognac has gone from orange to a deep chestnut and the corners have softened without fraying. The perimeter zip is the best thing about it: packing for a weekend is like opening a small suitcase.
The listing says 15-inch but my 16 slides in fine. The felt-lined straps are the difference between this and my old canvas pack; I walked 20,000 steps around Lisbon with it and my shoulders never noticed.
No complaints about the build. It is 1.35 kg before you put anything in it, though, and on a long day with a laptop I felt it. If you mostly carry a tablet, the 18 L is the better buy.
Caught it on a bike rack and panicked. Rubbed it with my thumb like the card says and it mostly disappeared into the grain. Docking one star only because the laptop sleeve sits a little low for my taste.
